On 23 March 2017, Billy from Taking the Pixels was the guest speaker at the 2017 South East London Young Enterprise final held at the London Borough of Bexley Civic Offices. The event took place to find out which South East London school would progress to the London finals on the path to becoming UK Company of the Year.
Young Enterprise is the UK’s leading charity that empowers young people to harness their personal and business skills. Each year students from schools across South East London find out what it’s like to set up and run a business. Students make all the decisions abut their company, from deciding on the company name and product to creating a business plan, managing the company finances, selling to the public at trade fairs to ultimately winding up the company and paying their taxes. This programme culminates in a UK final with the school businesses battling it out to be crowned UK Company of the Year. For more information on Young Enterprise, visit their website at www.young-enterprise.org.uk and follow their twitter @youngenterprise
19 year old Billy set up media and brand development company Taking the Pixels with his Father and they have developed short videos for Bexley-based companies and recently supported Bexley Accessible Transport with their fund raising efforts. As a young entrepreneur himself, Billy was an excellent fit to speak to the students in attendance who had gone through Young Enterprise’s company programme.
Of course, being a media company, Taking the Pixels recorded Billy’s speech and it’s now available to watch below:
